Being Global Minded

This term we have been learning about globalisation, trade and economy for this unit. In this unit I've found interest in learning was gathering information and putting it into work slides, docs, drawings and etc. Learning about the government, exports, imports, TPP and the 3 learning stages has been very interesting as well.
For Example Here is some of my work that I've done,
When was the TPP signed in NZ? The trans - pacific partnership agreement will be signed in Auckland on feb 4.
Who are the countries involved in the TPP agreement? (you may need to google this answer) New Zealand, Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Singapore, United States and Vietnam.
Who does the deal involve?
It's a trade deal including us and 11 other countries.
What will the TPP do for NZ?
Biggest trade deal in history under the tpp those taxes will be cut and eventually eliminated many items - this will make it easier for many NZ exports to compete in foreign markets.
How will it help the NZ Exporters?
It will make it easier for NZ exports to compete in foreign markets.
Which NZ Exporters will do well from this deal?
Kiwifruits and winemarkets.
Who will not do well with this deal?
Dairy farmers.
What will this deal bring to imports into NZ?
A few taxes on imports won’t have much impact.
How does being in the TPP help businesses in NZ when they trade with other countries?99
This deal will give other countries and corporations some extra rights that are supposed to protect the investment companies from making things like research.
What are the critics of the TPP worried about?
Not being forced out but foreign government. They think the extra rights give outsiders too much control over NZ laws.
What did the signing NZ Government admit to about the costs?
There are some costs?
What might happen to copyright costs?
The cost of medicine from overseas will probably rise.
What may happen to medicines?
Copyright on things like books, movies and music will be extended from 50-70 years extra 2.7 billion a year in NZ’s economic output by 2030.
This TPP deal in NZ has not been finalised yet, what has to happen and how long would it take?
Obama and John Keys
Who are the two leaders shaking hands at the end of the video?
The deal needs to be ratified by individual countries, in NZ there will be a bill debated in parliament members of the public will be able to make submissions.
Write a 50 word conclusion of what you think about this deal for NZ?
I personally think that this deal of taxes should be cut down so that our items such as kiwifruits and wine markets from NZ can be able to compete against foreign markets. I also think that medicine costs overseas should not be raised due to people's limit of money when they need the medicine.

Reading Response + Herald Article

This Week we had to read a herald article and do a response on it. Here is my response that I did for the herald article also there is a link down below if you want to have a brief scroll through the story and have a quick read.

Date - 19/09/20

Title of the text - Whangarei’s lawn mowing Good samaritan found

Author - Jodi Bryant

Summary of the text (4-6 sentences)

One day a man on his birthday ended up putting a staple in his finger at work. During that day he drove across helping out an elderly with her lawns doing a really good deed. And also from that day there were also a lot of car crashes in that area, that's when seven sharp interviewed the elderly women and she happened to talk about a man named Nikau Munroe Rawiri. It was only after his partner shared the post stating that it was the perfect way to end his birthday with him mowing the lawns, Nikau Munroe Rawiri and his partner were scrolling on face book that night and Nikau noticed the house, then he listened to the interview and realised she mentioned him about doing a good deed then he says my head was saying go but my heart was saying help out and as he did he became Whangarei’s lawn mowing Good Samaritan. The posts got so many views and he got gazillions of messages and texts flooding his dm’s. He declined an offer from the elderly's daughter, then he reunited with them and then the daughter presented him with a hamper of pest control products and then seven sharp came down to follow up on their story.

The key idea in the text - SEXY paragraph

I think the key message in this story is we should help those in need. By this I mean never let an elderly or other do something so intense that they struggle, lend a hand and help or at least ask. This is shown by Nikau Munroe Rawiri he helped an elderly Mow her lawns. In my opinion seeing lovely people in my community help people in need just to carry grocery or get them to the car or cross the road is an example of helping in need.

What can we learn from the text?

What I can learn and also what other people can take by this is that to help anyone in need.

KIwi Culture Reflection

Most of this term we have been focusing on a topic called Kiwi Culture, We've been learning about Culture,Heritage,Identity, Kiwi Icons and more. One thing I did to increase my understanding of Kiwi Culture is that I researched to gather information and facts to go towards my learning. I think that researching about Kiwi Icons and finding how they appear as Kiwi Icons has been the most exciting and enjoyable topic yet in the unit (Kiwi Culture). I learnt from this unit to appreciate and respect my culture and also other cultures as they are important as much as mine, I appreciate how different they do there traditions, and etc.

Being Cybersmart

Being Cyber Smart keeps us safe from inappropriate sites, viruses, hacking, unwanted people, etc. For example people could scam you, catfish and hack you just going on 1 inappropriate site. To be Cyber smart you need to be secure online.Ways I be Cyber Smart is that I keep my personal info offline, I'm always weary about who texts me and what sites I go on just to making sure it's not suspicious in ways of  viruses, hacking, unwanted people and many more.
